GroundLevel worked with McCarthy and Lionakis on the new modern campus for Earl Warren Middle School that is situated on the former site of the original 20-acre campus, built in 1954 in the beautiful coastal community of Solana Beach. The modern beach cottage architecture sets a contextually appropriate stage for outdoor learning in this multi-tiered campus. Outdoor spaces are designed at various scales to accommodate both large and small groups in a variety of configurations. The coastal landscape palette blends several California natives with other low-water use plants including both aloes and agaves.
