GroundLevel collaborated with DLR Group on this new mid-century inspired elementary school campus in the Coachella Valley for Palm Springs Unified School District. The campus includes a number of creatively shaded outdoor gathering and circulations spaces for staff and students, providing welcome respite from the desert sun. The project boasts a colorful blooming desert plant palette that includes Palo Verde trees, Lantana, Aloes, Bougainvillea, Texas Rangers that along with the school’s bold architecture embodies the bright optimism of desert modernism from the 1950’s and 1960’s.
