GroundLevel’s landscape design for Esplanade in San Diego’s UTC creates a vibrant network of outdoor spaces that blend functionality, wellness, and connection. The 241,963-square-foot campus features flexible gathering areas with shaded trellises and a variety of seating types ranging from collaborative tables to quiet lounge niches.

Native and drought-tolerant plantings provide seasonal color and texture, while mature trees introduce shade and comfort throughout plazas and pathways. A system of walkways and plazas links the conference center, fitness center, and surrounding buildings, encouraging movement and interaction across the site.

Drawing inspiration from nearby La Jolla Cove and the open-air energy of Westfield UTC, the design offers tenants an amenity-rich environment where vibrant planting and thoughtfully designed outdoor areas elevate the everyday campus experience.
