GroundLevel transformed Genentech’s Oceanside campus into an inviting, connected outdoor hub. The addition of permanent pickleball courts brought new energy and activity, while drought-tolerant plantings replaced artificial turf to create a more sustainable and vibrant landscape.

The design features flexible outdoor spaces for work and socializing, complemented by walking trails known as “The Loop” that encourage relaxation and fitness. An efficiently organized, flexible community lawn includes an informal stage that serves as a speaker venue and daily seating area, seamlessly connecting to the café patio. Shaded dining areas provide comfortable, 24/7 social environments, while asphalt courts and a hydroseeded field at the southern edge enhance the dynamic, well-integrated campus landscape.
