GroundLevel was engaged by UC San Diego for the design of this new approximately 3-acre park site adjacent to the future home of Triton Center, the new epicenter of the campus. The design takes its inspiration from the geologic formation of a river tributary, and is emblematic of the diverse paths of people, research, study, and discovery that flow through the University. The site’s natural sloping topography guides the use of landform to create paths of discovery and places of respite for students as they experience the site. The project aims to be a proud example of site resiliency within the campus through its preservation and relocation of existing trees, reuse of materials, and embrace of stormwater treatment.
